Noel has truly created something eternal within this series that will stay with me even after it ends. This is the fifth book in the series. Damen and Ever are back, going through the motions and dealing with their energy veil. That’s not all however, Dark Flame left off with the betrayal of Ever’s friend and the death of an enemy (I don’t want to give too much away). In Night Star, Ever is once again forced to choose between the two boys—Damen and Jude—that she both loves. Haven makes decisions that has Damen and Ever worrying about her sanity, while they wait for her to break down. While the ending left me without a close, readers will eagerly await the release to Everlasting, the last installment of the series.

Despite what other people may have said, because I have only read negative review of this book, my view on this novel was very different. I found myself enjoying this, though Night Star was not my favorite in the series (Blue Moon was just so deeply rooted in emotion; my favorite still stands as it is), I did enjoy the changes that took place.

The plot was upbeat and when I wanted to bookmark my place and stop for the night, there was no possible way. I could not stop because the plot was fantastic and left me wanting more.

The rollercoaster ride Ever and Damen keep riding are what kept me on my toes; I need to know who she will choose. Yes, it may be a love triangle cliché but Ever, a strong character, clearly weighs both options wisely (and doesn’t go on and on about choosing; that would have driven me insane).

Ever seemed to be an improved character. Not just from what happened in this book, but even in the beginning somehow, I could tell her strength and trust were different somehow. Damen and Ever’s relationship grows in every book and this one is no exception. Their understanding for each other blew me away. Their love for each other kept the plot moving.

Okay, here we go. The ending. Right now, after just finishing it, it feels like I haven’t finished anything. That was the only downfall. For me, the ending didn’t cover it and I realize there will be another book but I still wanted some closure, anything to have some form of ending.

I’m really loving the covers of this series. This may be one of the series that have not revamped their covers yet. Cover-art people, please do not revamp these. I love how each character, on the cover, picks an object to circle around, to draw light from. It just seems like a cool idea.

Noel has created a world that still blows me away every time I step into it. So no matter if the ending was good or bad, the book was fantastic and if you’ve come this far with the series than you should definitely read this one.
