(I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.)

Novelista Girl by Meredith Schorr is the sequel to Blogger Girl, which is actually one of the first books I ever  reviewed on my blog.  I enjoyed this book even more than the first, which is unusual for me, as sequels don't always live up to the original.  Thankfully, I wasn't disappointed with Novelista Girl.

It picks up where Blogger Girl leaves off, and we find that Kim has finished her novel, and is querying publishers, hoping to find good news every time she checks her email.  Her search for a publisher isn't going well, however, and she starts getting discouraged.  To add insult to injury, her high-school nemesis, Hannah, is having great success as an author, and is about to release her second novel.

Kim is such a delightful character.  She's far from perfect, but I couldn't help but root for her, and I hoped that everything would work out for her in the end.  No spoilers, but I had a huge grin on my face as I read the last couple of pages.

This is chick-lit at its finest.  A plucky heroine dealing with everyday drama - a full-time job, friend and frenemy issues, relationship problems - all while trying to get her novel published and maintaining a popular chick-lit blog.  Novelista Girl is well-written, the character development is wonderful, and there are quite a few laugh-out-loud moments.

Smart and funny, Novelista Girl is not one to miss if you're a fan of chick-lit novels.
