Thank you to Rachel for letting me take part in this tour. I loved the first two books so I was very excited to read Heather's story.
This story is really perfect for this year. Victoria wrote the majority of this book before the pandemic really hit the UK and sent us into lockdown but a lot of the themes of this book are so relevant right now.
Heather is so easy to identify with. She has anxiety and low self-esteem. She constantly feels she isn't good enough. This is something that we have all felt before. Heather goes on such a journey in this book and I was so proud of her. I also really related to Heather's grief of losing her mum. I lost my mum when I was very young and while the pain lessens over the years it never really goes away.
Rory Fraser. Oh, this man is just the whole package. He is so patient and understanding. All he wants to do is look after Heather and their son Harry. He is a hard worker and cares about the community too. If you can't tell I fell in love with Rory.
I loved the different flashbacks throughout the book. I love mixing up timelines and that sort of thing so this really appealed to me.
It was so lovely to revisit Glendale, especially during the festive season. It's a perfect place to spend Christmas. This was my first festive book of the season and it really set me up for many many more. It was a real feel-good festive series.
Victoria hinted at another story throughout the book and I really really hope that we get another book because I just love this place.
