I was totally sucked in by the blurb for this one. But after finishing, it was just a reminder about why I generally don't like novella length books. I need more character and storyline development, and this one felt like I was dumped right into the middle of an existing story. I knew Marta was desperate to save her sister from the incubus demon, but when she went running to a crazy werewolf (Mackenzie) so he could get her ex-vampire lover's tooth, that's where things went south for me.

Marta had relationship issues with Cassius. She wanted a commitment from him and he wasn't willing to give her what he wanted so she walked. Very commendable. But when he shows up while she's in the middle of having sex with Mackenzie, she barely fights before she's giving into him. To me, that made all the reasons why she left him seem trivial if she was so willing to give herself over to him. And then there was Mackenzie. She had no clue who this guy was and wasn't the type of person to have a one night stand, but there she was jumping right in. It was hard to like Marta if her stance on certain topics were so easily cast aside the minute sex is waved in front of her.

Others will probably enjoy this quick paranormal m/f/m read, but the issues I have with novellas strikes again and makes it hard for me to enjoy this one.
