Cocktails and Books received this book for free from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.I really enjoyed this installment in the Royally series.  Queen Lenora was such a hard-ass to her grandsons, but it was a special treat to be able to look back and what made Lenora who she was.

Being a princess and the heir to a country did not afford Lenora the kind of childhood others had, including her sister.  She lived by societal and courtly rules, kingdom laws and knowing that everyone is looking for a weakness to use against her.  Lenora didn't have much, but she had a best friend in Thomas who gave Lenora what she was missing from her family:  unconditional love, adventure and understanding.  But when her world falls apart, it's Thomas' older brother Edward who becomes the rock she needs.

I loved Lenora and Edward together.  Even though she saw their relationship as an arrangement, it became clear very quickly this was absolutely a love match.  They made each other laugh, knew there was unconditional support, even when no one else supported them.  Lenora's steel will and backbone often made an appearance, but Edward softened that.

Another great read by Emma Chase.  This may not have all the laughter and banter we're used to reading, but this was an awesome addition to an already favorite series.
