I received an ARC through NetGalley.

Love Me Tenor was a fun, sexy read, but it really does not compare to the amazingness of the first book. It's still good, just not on the same level. This time we're following a new singing competition to create the next big boy band! Trevor is roped in, mostly because he literally has no place else to go after his family disowns him for being gay and graduation is fast approaching. When he gets there he learns that his group is all gay, and he has to pretend to be boyfriends with the ultra sexy Jalen.

Let's start with the main reason I didn't love Love Me Tenor as much as Treble Maker. I felt like the main romance elements were recycled. Both feature one super hot guy who is out and proud, and then one who is repressed in some way. Jalen is comfortable with who he is, and he's awesome. Meanwhile, Trevor only does one-night stands with straight guys whom he'll never see again and then feels crushing guilt afterward. Obviously, Jalen is going to help him with that and become more comfortable with who he is. I'm not saying that this is a bad plot, because it's not. I just read it before from this series. I wanted something new.

As for what I adored about Love Me Tenor, that would be the fake relationship turned real! Jalen and Trevor reluctantly play at being in love for the cameras, but at some point their attraction takes over behind closed doors. And their first sexual encounter certainly did not come around the way I expected! Trevor is not at all what he seems! I also really liked how the author played with stereotypes and making assumptions about people in this one. Jalen and Trevor both surprise each other.

Love Me Tenor was a fun read. I really liked Jalen and Trevor together, and how they help each other. This is also an interracial romance! Hooray! And one of Trevor's plot threads focuses on his newly discovered diabetes. I do wish there had been a bit more at the end regarding Trevor's family, but at least there's a happy ending otherwise.
