'A riveting read!' Mary Kubica, author of The Good Girl

'Dizzying plot twists and multiple surprise endings are this author's stock in trade... And, oh boy, does she ever know how to write [them].' Marilyn Stasio, New York Times Book Review

Never overstay your welcome...

Littleport, Maine is like two separate towns: a vacation paradise for wealthy holidaymakers and a simple harbour community for the residents who serve them. Friendships between locals and visitors are unheard of - but that's just what happened with Avery Greer and Sadie Loman.

Each summer for a decade the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead. When the police rule the death a suicide, Avery can't help but feel there are those in the community, including a local detective and Sadie's brother Parker, who blame her. Someone knows more than they're saying, and Avery is intent on clearing her name before she's branded a killer.

'Fast-paced and gripping.' People

My first thoughts were comparing it to Veronica Mars, with no Dad and she didn't date Duncan. That doesn't really hold up though.

My next note is calling her an idiot.

Every time I was close to quitting, it pulled me back in.

Okay, I like the "prelude to destruction".

YES DUH!!! I KNEW THAT SO LONG AGO.
Get to it!
Thought the car was blocked?
Double dumbass.

I liked the narrator, but man, I'm glad I borrowed this instead of buying. I did take a break once I got half-way through, but had to come back to make sure I was right.
