This was a hard book to finish. The first half was characters doing dumbass things so when I put it down, it was easy to not pick up for a while (and reread a different trilogy in between).

The annoying thing was Caleb was the only one who was actually doing things that made sense. He was thoughtful and careful (except for his whole addiction) but everyone else who were all doing dumbass stuff we’re treating him like he was the one screwing up. ugh.

Then the second half wasn’t so bad. Still a few dumbass moves by Trinity but everyone else seemed to get their head on straight and so things were a bit more interesting.

The upshot is that it’s a really fast read so when I finally picked it back up, I finished it in a couple of hours and am still interested in reading the finale.

”Um, I have a dragon in my bed?” he said in an uncomfortable voice. “She just waltzed right in here and jumped up and refuses to leave.”
