Donkeys, downpours, and the delectable man who broke her heart long ago?

This novella was amazing. I was captivated from the start and felt almost as if I were Jane heading to the Rochester estate. With the pending storm, the mysterious mansion, it just had that inescapable feel. . .

I'll be brief so my review isn't longer than the book. I connected with the story right away and my heart was torn along with Aubrey's as she was confronted with Cooper. Stranded with Cooper without electricity, without phone service, in a heavy storm, and having to search for missing donkeys. While the story would have worked without insight into Cooper's thoughts and feelings, it would have probably lacked some of the depth that his voice provided.

As with most of Dana Mentink's books, this was just the right blend of mystery and romance with humor sprinkled appropriately throughout.

I highly recommend Donkey Island Rendezvous for anyone looking for a quick, romantic mystery to read.
