Holy. Cannoli. First of all, the biggest reason why it took me forever to read this book was that Amazon fucked up the format, making the reading process impossible. I almost quit on the book because of it, but never the less I continued.

In the politest way possible, this book was... a journey. While reading this, I was like, “this sounds like it was written by a teenage,” and low and behold, it was. Actually, knowing it was written by someone young helped me see the book in a new light and made me chill out. Once you view it as a Wattpad-esk book, you can (respectfully) knock down your expectations.

One thing that also made this book hard to get through is that I’m just kinda bored/tired of high school books and drama. When characters start going to school, I drift away. I think it’s because I’m not in high school anymore, and these problems just seem irrelevant.

I think the best way to analyze this book is through the characters, BUT before I go there, we must discuss the use of wifebeaters. This is what I think when you use that word:

In future books, please use “tank top” or “sleeveless shirt” or something. It’s a small difference, but the connotation of words are essential. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s something that made me cringe and took me away from the story.

Alice
Ooooohhh boy. I do not care about Alice. I tried and tried and tried, but I just can’t. She’s just so “I’m a conventionally beautiful but I don’t realize it,” and it’s annoying. She is the type of girl to start talking about how she’s “not like other girls” and how she’s sooooo different. No girl, you’re not. You are not “unique” cause you prefer to read or do homework; that just makes you are a high schooler who likes to read and wants to get into college. Half of me was pissed when she turned out to be an Alpha. I was like “great. Now she’s gonna think she’s hot shit”. If I liked her, I would have felt empowered by her being an Alpha, but because I don’t, I just pick on little stuff. Like, why is she magically an Alpha? Like I agree with Sliver, why her? She didn’t earn it, and she wasn’t born with it, so ????? I was so pissed at her just choosing Max’s side even though it made no sense???? Ryder was literally with you???? Also, I’m 90% sure she slut-shamed Sam at the beginning of the book?? Then she has the audacity to brag about how she’s a virgin and how she’s waiting for someone special etc, then has sex with some guy she’s known for 3 days after he declared that he “cares about her?" Fuck right off, Alice, I’m on to you. To make it clear, I’m not pissed that she’s a virgin or whatever; I’m just pissed that she felt like she was better than everyone but when it’s her, Its “different.” That might not have happened because I did read the beginning of the book like 60 days ago. I could write an essay about Alice, but you get the point.

Sam
Fucking Sam. She was just the “crazy best friend” that every Wattpad book has. Perpetually single but horny as hell and borderline sexually harasses men because they are “hawt as fuck”. Usually, this BF is soooo beautiful that even the main character is envious. But she doesn’t care, because she’s “different” she not like other girls. She likes to eat a ton of food and sleep rather than do makeup. I went to school with someone with Sam’s personality. It’s not cute. It’s annoying.

Silver
She is like “other girls.” I think the main reason I hate HS romance is that there is usually a character like Silver. The bitchy girl who bullies other girls. It just makes me sad. I think it helps damage our opinion of other women. We should be bringing each other up, but we are conditioned to “catfight.” Fuck that. I’m not saying that Jessica caused all of this, but I hate seeing characters like Silver. Why do high school girls always have to fight over boys? May this trope Rest In Peace. ✌️

Bane
He can rot in hell—nasty personality. Just because you are a “loyal” friend doesn’t mean you have to be an ass. Then he has the audacity to get mad at Alice for being confused that he started to speak to her?? Fuck off, Bane, seriously. Grow up and treat people with respect.

Kellan
The only tolerable character. A really lovely, friendly guy. The one person I would hang out with of this group, tbh.

Max
If he smells like a liar, he is a liar. I was surprised that he didn’t bite Alice tbh. Honestly, toward the end, what a lame dude. Not even gonna waste my breathe. His choices were wacky and made absolutely no sense.

Ryder
Get it together man. Just get it together. Stop treating Alice like shit. Stop stringing Silver along. ALSO WHAT PACK???? A pack of FOUR???? Is that even a PACK or just a GROUP?? The musketeers were four. Maybe they are THAT but certainly not a PACK!!!

That ending was definitely unexpected. Who would have thought? Personally, if someone "stole" the love of my life, I would make that guy pay, not the family that they abandoned, but what the hell do I know? Time will tell if it’s enough to convince me to read the next book.

This review was written at like 2am so I’m sorry for spelling and grammar; however, I was scared if I fell asleep, I would forget what to write.
