Wife by Wednesday (Weekday Brides, #1)

by Catherine Bybee

The New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling novel that launches Bybee’s popular Weekday Brides series

A wife by Wednesday…a love for a lifetime

Blake Harrison:
Rich, titled, and charming…and in need of a wife by Wednesday. Blake turns to Sam Elliot, who isn’t the businessman he expected. Instead, Blake is faced with Samantha Elliot, beautiful and feisty with a voice men call 1-900 numbers to hear.

Samantha Elliot:
Owner of matchmaking firm Alliance and not on the marital menu…that is, until Blake offers her ten million dollars for a one-year contract. And there’s nothing indecent about this proposal. The money will really help with her family’s medical bills. All Samantha will need to do is keep her attraction to her new husband to herself and avoid his bed.

But Blake’s toe-curling kisses and sexy charm prove too difficult for Sam to resist. It was a marriage contract that planned for everything…except falling in love.

I am a fan of the Not Quite series and was happy to read more Bybee books. This was exactly what I expected. All Bybee's books have a great blend of rom-com and heart and are filled with characters who I want to get to know a little better. In Wife by Wednesday, we are introduced to Blake, a duke who must marry before his 36th birthday in order to collect his inheritance, and Samantha, a feisty matchmaker, who has trust issues with good reason. I was instantly all in with this one. I read for escape, not for reality and this idea of a knight is shining armor is ok by me. I also cared about these two. They were wounded and they connected over these wounds. Both experienced a lot of personal growth during this story and they both changed for the better. The relationship between Sam and her sister was very touching. It gave her that extra dimension that made me love her more. This was a fun read. I laughed, I sighed, I swooned and in the end, I was totally satisfied.
