Three ladies with money troubles take up stripping in this adult romance spinoff on fairy tales.

While I really love the idea of this series, I found the execution to be lacking. Not straying too far from the original fairy tale kept me from connecting to the characters. Their names, their backgrounds, their quirks - all of it just seemed too on the nose. I'm also disappointed the author didn't even try to add diversity to the cast of characters. The only unique spin to the story is turning these ladies into strippers. I will say the positive portrayal of stripping is satisfying and well done. PJ's support of Cindy in the profession is a really nice change of pace.

However, my biggest disappointment in the series has to do with the relationships. I never quite believed how Cindy, Ariel, and Belle met. I never quite believed how they moved from strangers to friends, particularly since Belle and Ariel's backstories were never developed beyond "money troubles." I never quite believed the romance between Cindy and PJ. I didn't feel the connection between all of these characters, therefor I never connected to the story. I'll probably read the next one in the series, but my hopes for enjoying it are low.

tl;dr A fairy tale spin lacking authentic connections between the characters.
