GAME FOR TROUBLE is a fast paced, entertaining, story of an NFL football player trying to win the woman he loves.

Willow Cavanaugh owns a catering business in Monterey Bay and needs to expand. She has found the perfect building to lease and learns the building is owned by Nick Hamilton. Nick Hamilton is a tight end with the San Jose Hawks football team. Willow and Nick met six years ago and had a wild passionate affair, but Nick suddenly left Willow with no explanation when the football season started. Willow was madly in love with Nick and his departure hurt her deeply. Unfortunately, the lease on the building is more than Willow can afford and she tries to talk Nick into lowering the price. Nick agrees, but only if Willow will date him. Willow is hesitant, but feels she doesn’t have a choice. Nick is hoping to win Willow back and Willow does her best to keep him at a distance. They both care for each other, but are afraid to admit their feeling. When they are together they are sexually explosive.

I liked Willow, she is a spunky, independent woman who wants to prove herself as a competent businesswoman. She will do anything to make her business successful, work long hours, even agree to date Nick. She can’t help herself, she still finds him hard to resist.

Will stole my heart; he is a handsome alpha male, who is also sweet and vulnerable. He is used to women throwing themselves at him. He doesn’t know how to deal with Willow’s sassy attitude, but he up for the challenge.

Karen Erickson writes a delightful story about second chances. Can Nick prove he is a good guy and deserves Willow’s love? Can Willow forgive Nick for breaking her heart?
