Eleven-year-old tomboy Livie is sure that she is responsible for the accident that has put her mother into a coma, so, trying to make amends, she travels through the Louisiana swamps to get a spell that will make her mother well again.
I truly loved this book. I felt like I was right there in the bayou living everything that Livie did. This book would get 4 1/2 stars from me if i could do that. The character development in this story is great. The author has created great depth and power to her characters. I recommend this book to all of my friends here. It is a very different , but worthwhile read.
