A motley group of shifters...and one human.

This author became known to me after reading and loving her Bewitched and Bewildered series, so I decided to check into her other work and came across this little gem. Probably not as funny as the other series, but definitely more erotic.

This series reminded me of both Sophie Oak and Shelly Laurenston's books. Arkadia is a little town that openly accept lots of different kinds of shifters and their mates whether they be male/female or male/male or even triads.

Becca was on an adventure when her car started playing up and she needed to find a garage. By accident she came to a little town that didn't seem to be anywhere on her map. As an orphan with no family she is quickly welcomed into the town where she comes to learn that she is the mate of the future Alpha. Becca is a human and her mating does not go according to plan, surprisingly she takes everything in her stride and waits for her grumpy bear to get over himself. Once they communicate with each other and finish the mating they are happy with each other.

There were some dramas involving hyenas, kidnapping and gambling debts which led the shifters to join forces with the local vampires led by Prince Gabriel. I'm pretty sure that these issues will be carried on to other books in the series.

Overall I liked the story. A little corny and not very original, but if you like strong and possessive Alpha heroes and quirky heroines with a couple of good steamy scenes then this series might be right for you.
