Elusive was a tough book for me to rate. I really don't like Presley. By the end, you realize something happened to make her such a wall off, stone cold bitch, but its difficult to believe that someone in a family like hers had something tragic happen and NO ONE knows or called her out on her behavior. Sutton hangs around for a few weeks and he catches on, but for years no one in her family noticed?

I did like Sutton; however, I felt like he was an underdeveloped character. Why is he so deep and understanding? Why is he willing to put up with Presley's bitchiness? Its obvious he is, but I don't get why?

I'm hoping that all these questions will be answered in book 2, Exclusive, and that I will be able to better connect with Presley and Sutton. Elusive is the classic angst ridden new adult story: finding your way in the world is messing and hard.

  • POV: dual 1st

  • Tears: no

  • Triggers: Its obvious that SOMETHING happened to Presley, but it is not spelled out

  • Series/Standalone: Series

  • Cliffhanger: yes

  • HEA: not at the end of this book

Angsty NA romance like Lead Me Home by AL Jackson, The Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines, The Coincidence of Callie and Cayden by Jessica Sorenson ...then you will probably like Elusive!
