Dizzy sounded like a super cute and fun read based on its blurb, and it most definitely was! As soon as I started reading, I felt this romantic comedy, chick lit vibe which I just adored! Dizzy is a very light and easy read, and it was just so much. Dylan and Ziah felt like real teenagers, nothing forced or over the top about that pair. I honestly think that this book would make an awesome movie. I adore romantic comedies and this one certainly satisfied me.

Dylan and Ziah first meet at a party where they do not hit it off at all. Yes, they both find each other attractive, but they also think the other is irritating. A couple of months later they meet again, but this time it’s because their older siblings are getting married. Both them are strongly opposed to the wedding for nearly identical reason. Dylan’s mother walked out and him, his brother, and father, so he and his brother made a pact to never settle down. Ziah’s sister has always drilled “school, career, then boys” into her head, so of course, she’s upset that her sister is getting married while still in college. What follows is Dylan and Ziah forced to work together in a less than ideal situation. It was super cute watching their walls come down and being to care for each other.

Dizzy isn’t 100% adorable fluff. Each of the characters has a side issue on top of the wedding. Ziah is dealing with heartbreak and losing her best friend after the party. Her problem wasn’t really that deep, but it’s certainly relatable. Dylan on the otherhand is still dealing with his mother leaving even though it’s been several years. It’s keeping him from forming meaningful relationships with girls, and he can’t help but wonder what his dad and brother are keeping from him regarding his mom. Although he definitely doesn’t want to talk about it either. Dylan’s mama drama comes up more towards the end, and gives the book a slightly more serious tone before it’s totally cheesy ending.

In the end, I loved Dizzy! It’s a breeze to read through. I was never bored despite the story not being particularly dramatic. I just loved getting to know Ziah and Dylan and watching their relationship blossom. I was hoping for a little wedding sabotage, considering neither of them want it to happen, but that’s okay. They both clearly love their siblings and wouldn’t want to screw that up for them, although it would have been fun to see some more wedding hijinks.
