As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms--and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future--and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

Quick review:

Quick thought before I start: I would not consider this a young adult book. I thought I'd warn younger people who want to read this. There's lots of violence and sex and swearing that I don't think younger teens should be reading. I don't know why this is even classified as young adult.

This is a book that I kind of want to hate because of the writing and certain events but I can't because I was easily drawn into the story. Also how did I not see how much Sarah J Maas uses ... and - until now? She has a hard time writing complete sentences I think.

I loved the romance in this book. It was nice having a new adult book where the main character was able to play the field a little bit before actually settling down with someone. And with no love triangle? Bonus points for that!

I hated Feyre at the beginning of this book but I'm really glad she matured and became a better character by the end. The development was really nice withe her. Except it kind of drove me crazy that the author made her out to be the special snowflake who can do no wrong. It was really pushed too about how special she was.

I loved that we saw more of Rhys in this book because he was a favourite of mine last book. I also loved seeing another court because we got to see all the differences between a couple.

I'm one of the few people that had a problem with this book. The only reason it got 3 stars was because I really did enjoy reading it. It honestly should have gotten lower from me. I HATED what the author did to Tamlin. I found he was a completely different character in this book! I don't k ow what happened in between books 1 and 2 to make that huge change! For whatever reason his personality is almost changed with Rhysand's and they switch roles. Also both of them are kind of abusive which was a little weird for me because I wasn't expecting that. I thought Feyre was a much stronger character and wouldn't stand for any of that stuff. I guess it just felt like all of the characters had their personalities ripped apart and given new ones, though I still liked a few of them. Just don't go into this book expecting it to be like the first.
