I am not a huge fan of short stories, and as a result I struggled a bit with this collection. James is an excellent storyteller and I think the short stories Connoisseur, The Monk and the Abbess and The Devil's Tavern best reflects this talent. The Devil's Tavern is a peek into where the idea for the Caretakers of the Imaginarum Geographica ([b:Here, There Be Dragons|34908|Here, There Be Dragons (Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica, #1)|James A. Owen|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1266455876s/34908.jpg|2498824]) took root.

The ultimate goal of this grouping of short stories is the preview of the Mythworld series which has never before been printed in English. I am hoping these books are made available soon as the taste that James provided at the end certainly has me waiting for more!
