What I enjoyed most about this book was seeing both Grant and Ari grow as people. They are young, but the author manages to convey their development in such a mature way. Ari and Grant are strong and determined and stay true to themselves with the belief that they can mutually overcome any of life's obstacles together. If only life was that simple!
Grant's total devotion to Ari is both sweet and sincere. He tells a few lies of omission along the way simply to protect her from someone he sees as a threat. Of course, that isn't the right thing to do, but us readers know he did what he thought was best at the time. Only hindsight tells us differently. Ari's influence just brings out the best qualities in Grant. He's become focused and determined to lead ContraBand into nationwide stardom when really a wannabe rock superstar should be raising hell?
Aribel is such a strong young woman, but we witness that even she isn't immune to feelings of doubt and uncertainty, which is endearing and relatable. After all she's in a relationship with a guy her family doesn't approve of and he's surrounded by screaming groupies waiting for his come on. Little wonder that insecurity can seep in just a little. However her love and will take her way beyond any misgivings because at the end of the day she knows what she wants -Grant
I was a little apprehensive when I began reading this continuation of Grant and Ari's relationship. The first book, whilst I liked it lacked the little extra that makes it shine. K.A. Linde has definitely made up for that in this sequel and completely wowed me and proved me wrong. This is a fantastic finale to their story and their overwhelming desire for neither of them to compromise each others goals in life is sublime.
