Loving her is a risk he can't afford . . . and can't resist.

When acclaimed Bible study author Genevieve Woodward receives an anonymous letter referencing her parents' past, she returns to her hometown in the Blue Ridge Mountains to chase down her family's secret. However, it's Genevieve's own secret that catches up to her when Sam Turner, owner of a historic farm, uncovers the source of shame she's worked so hard to hide.

Sam has embraced his sorrow, his isolation, and his identity as an outsider. He's spent years carving out both career success and peace of mind. The last thing he wants is to rent the cottage on his property to a woman whose struggles stir his worst failure back to life. Yet can he bear to turn her away right when she needs him most?

"Wade launches the Misty River Romance series with this crafty mix of tragedy, intrigue, and romance. . . . Wade's endearing love story will appeal to readers of Susan May Warren."--Publishers Weekly

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Prism Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Stay with Me By Becky Wade is an exciting tale of Christianity, romance, mystery, and beating addiction.

Can the past stay in the past, or will it come back to haunt us?

Genevieve Woodward

Genevieve Woodward has an interesting past that leads her onto the path that she tries to follow. She is a Bible study author and speaker for what she teaches in her books. In her past, though at only 11 years old, something terrible has happened. She and four other people were involved in an earthquake but were the only ones that survived. This event shaped the five of them very differently and took them all on different paths. For Genevieve, it pushed her to move away, but then something else happened to put her on another track. However, the painkiller addiction probably wasn't on her bucket list of things to do.

What I like about her is that she has two different personalities, and she knows when to switch focus fast when she does that. Genevieve is a very complicated person, and it hasn't helped her very much. Another thing that I like about her is that Genevieve knows that she wants to beat this addiction and has been trying her hardest. I congratulate her on that front. The last thing that I like about her is that she knows getting into a romance right now isn't the smart thing to do, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Sam Turner

Sam Turner came from Australia to live in Misty Rivers four years ago and has been there trying to get a handle on his life. His life was completely different than Gen's, but what he went through makes him wary of her. The one thing that he can't let himself do is fall for her. Just like with Gen, the heart wants what the heart wants and something there is no way to stop this from happening. He is a good guy, though, that has tried his hardest to live a simple life, which he has done and is still doing well with Gen living in his guesthouse.

What I like about him is that he wants her to succeed, but he feels she has to beat the addiction for herself. Another thing that I like about him is how caring he is. Sam is also into paleo foods and eating right, which is terrific to see here.

The Mystery

The mystery is all about these two letters that Genevieve has received from her publishers about someone threatening her parents. It was about something that they did a long time ago, and this has both Natasha and Genevieve worried about what that could be. I didn't see any of it coming. The mystery is something that I won't discuss as it is crucial to the plot and to what happens for Genevieve and Sam as well. All I can say is that it's juicy.
Four Stars

Stay with Me By Becky Wade gives us a unique twist on a Christian romance story. I loved trying to figure out the mystery. That is until the Woodward sisters did. Genevieve and Sam's past intertwine in the story, along with her parents, is a nice touch. Ms. Wade has done a fantastic job. I am giving it four stars and recommending it to anyone who likes inspirational romances.
