I enjoyed this book.

I mean I’ve never read Jane Eyre and I have no idea what it is about. So when I say I enjoyed this book that is based purely on the story that Mont has told and it is not affected in any way to the real story of Jane Eyre, which I’m sure would influence the review if I had read it, or even knew what it was about.

This story was interesting to say the least. The way Emma was transported into the life of Jane Eyre wasn’t original. Even though I knew this book would have Jane Eyre’s story in it I found that part of the story dull. It was if the real story was worked around Jane Eyre’s story.

Then again I liked that most of it was set in present day, it was its own story. Not just a retelling of Jane Eyre.

I liked how it ended. But then I read the blurb for the second book and was surprised to see that Emma was also the lead character in that book. So I guess Emma pops in and out of classical stories. I wonder if she will end up having an illness at some stage in these books? Like in Joan of Arcadia Joan was diagnosed with a disease that explained why she was seeing God. Well to everyone else it explained that. I hope not. I hope Emma isn’t crazy.

Even though I did enjoy this book I’m not sure if I’m interested in reading the rest in the series.
