Hard Loving Cowboy

by A.J. Pine

Walker Everett, the youngest of the Everett brothers, is an enigma. No one's ever gotten close enough to figure him out, and his surly attitude has kept it so not many want to try. On a good day, he can wrangle cattle, repair a broken roof, and bring in a harvest---all before sundown. On bad days---the kind that follow a night of too much alcohol and whatever else is needed to numb his secret pain---he's pretty much useless. Today is one of those days.

When Walker shows up for work at Crossroads Ranch and meets Violet Chastain, the new sommelier, he's none too happy to work alongside the sophisticated woman who knows too much about wine and nothing about ranch life. Who cares how much they need her to make sure their first vintage doesn't fail? She does nothing but get under his skin. But when a heated argument leads to the hottest kiss he's ever had, Walker will have to decide whether it's time to let go of the pain of the past and admit he deserves something good.

A great ending to this series! I loved this whole series so much and am sad to see it end.
Walker has always been a hot mess and Pine lifted him up and gave him room to work through his very heavy baggage. His friendship and the subsequent relationship was lovely to experience. I appreciated that he had to buckle down and work through his issues and that he showed his family how capable he truly was.
