Shattered by Teri Terry

Shattered (Slated, #3)

by Teri Terry

Kyla's memory was erased,
her personality wiped blank,
her memories lost for ever.

Or so she thought.

After the shocking events of SLATED and FRACTURED, we return to Kyla's oppressive world as she tries to make sense of her life and everything around her.

Set in a disturbing near-future world, this is the conclusion to an engrossing, fast-paced trilogy that establishes Teri Terry as a master thriller writer.

Book 3 in the acclaimed SLATED trilogy.

Oh. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

What a read! I loved Slated, I enjoyed Fractured, but Shattered blew the whole trilogy wide open! So many surprises, so many reveals, so much action! I honestly had no idea this is how Kyla's story would go, but it was perfect. I'm not even sure if I should be calling her Kyla, and that's very much the heart of Shattered, as Kyla tries to figure out who the hell she is (which isn't as easy as you might think).

Shattered was also about Kyla calling people on their lies, and that was epic. Some of the scenes in the book had me cringing for her safety, but Kyla was taking no prisoners, and certainly taking no liars and I loved it. I'm all for someone finding out who they are, who they belong to and it was incredible to see the snippets from Kyla's childhood finally pay off into something tangible, something real.

What surprised me most was Aidan! WHERE THE HELL DID HE COME FROM IN THESE LAST TWO BOOKS EH? EH? EH? I was proper Team Aidan. I mean, I loved Ben in Slated, don't get me wrong, but what with him going missing and everything in Fractured, it allowed Aidan to completely wipe him away, in my head anyway. I liked that the chemistry between Kyla & Aidan was there, and it was tangible, but it wasn't forced. I liked that Aidan would look out for Kyla no matter what, because that was just the kind of guy he was.

I absolutely loved every page of this book. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't get enough and I was devastated to get to the end, because I feel like I could read about Kyla forever, although I am happy it ended, for Kyla's sake more than anything because man, did she go through some stuff. Thank you, Teri Terry, for letting me read your fantastic stories, they've kept me gripped for well over 1000 pages. BRAVO.
