I’m still holding out hope that Darkhawk will make another (larger) appearance. It feels sort of mean that they showed him, and several other characters, in the ads and covers…only to not do all that much with them. So I honestly do feel like something is going to come of it. I just don’t know what.
Despite my hopes being dashed for this issue, I have to say that they did several things right, as far as I’m concerned. I love that Star-Lord is still recovering from what happened to him during Infinity Wars. It’s not something one easily gets over…unless you’re an X-Men (as Kitty Pryde points out). Speaking of, the Kitty Pryde appearance was gold as well. A lot of subtle points towards what has been happening in her plot, most of which I’m pretty sure went over Quill’s head…
The Cosmic Ghost Rider points in this issue probably made the most sense. Castle is not, and will never be, a team player. He does, however, have some very strong opinions about Thanos, so he’ll basically be on whatever side is going up against him. He’ll just start a few fights in the meantime.
The conclusion of this issue was perfect as well. I enjoyed Nebula’s logic (did I just say that?) and can’t wait to see more of the character that they’re obviously talking about.
