The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks

The Blinding Knife (Lightbringer, #2)

by Brent Weeks

The second book in the Lightbringer series, the blockbuster fantasy epic from international bestseller Brent Weeks. Perfect for fans of Brandon Sanderson, Robin Hobb and Joe Abercrombie.

Gavin Guile is dying.

He'd thought he had five years left - now he's got less than one. With fifty thousand refugees, a bastard son and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin's got problems on every side.

As he loses control, the world's magic runs wild, threatening to destroy the Seven Satrapies. The old gods are being reborn and their army of colour wights is unstoppable.

The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole sixteen years ago.

Oh God, I'm shocked!
This book was SO, SO MUCH BETTER than the previous one! And the ending! THE FRIKIN' ENDING!
I'm overwhelmed.
I'm sorry, I cannot speak properly right now, too much to analize.
But one thing I know for sure: I need to read the third book, like, right now.
And can we talk about Kip? I hated - HATED - him in the first book and now he's my favorite (yeah, well, maybe if we don't count Gavin). Nice character development, very well done!
And Andross? So cool, so clever, I want to be like him (yeah, you should be scared). All the Guiles, while very different from one another, were incredibly entertaining to read.
I still have some reservations about Liv, I'm never going to like her, and Zymun. At first I was fascinated by him, but then I found him to be just a spoiled teenager. so sad. He could be great. Let's hope in the next book we will know more about him!
Anyway, great book, great story, great characters.
This goes straight in my fav shelf.
