It kind of pains me to say this, but A Favor for a Favor didn't quite hit home like I hoped it would. I've been a huge fan of Helena's Pucked series and I keep looking for any essence of that with her newer releases. We definitely see glimpses of it here and there, but overall, not quite there.
I definitely enjoyed this one a lot better than book 1 in the series, there was more humor that had me laughing especially with the banter between Stevie and Bishop. I really enjoyed watching their bit of enemy relationship turn into somewhat of a friendship. I found their relationship rather adorable as they try to maneuver around their feelings for one another.
I have to say that Bishop stole the show for me, but can I just hope he never uses the word 'bae' ever again. Please don't do it, Bishop!
With Stevie being the sister of the hero in book 1, he kind of overshadowed things a bit in this one. I wasn't a huge fan of him in book 1 and it was still showing in this one, unfortunately. However, these two resolve their issues with one another and it was finally great to put an end to that story.
Overall, I really wanted to love this more and it took me a lot longer than I hope to get through. Totally bums me out to say this since I'm a huge fan of Helena. Hopefully the next book will be a winner for me!
