Eve Lombard is a quirky, neurodivergent (ADHD), creative, who hyper-focuses, forgets to eat, & buys planners with the intent to get organized only to forget about them soon after. She has a deep love of crafting & wants to start a small business making handmade earrings, stickers & stationery. Recently dumped by a jerk who criticized & shamed her for being neurodivergent, her confidence is shaken & she’s ripe with imposter syndrome.

Cole Kincaid is Eve’s older brother’s best friend. He’s the full package. Sweet, supportive, protective, intelligent, understanding, patient, & kind. A former Heston U hockey player with a reputation for being a cutup, he’s been adrift since graduating, not knowing what he wants out of life. Ready for a change he comes back to Heston Lake to work for Eve’s Dad as Heston U’s new assistant hockey coach.

This pair was made for each other. They grew up together & have always had a connection, but Eve never believed that Cole saw her as anything more than his best friend’s weird little sister. Cole thinks Eve is a forbidden fruit because he works for her dad, & her brother would kill him for touching his little sister. After matching repeatedly on a dating app, they give in to their attraction & begin a secret (incredibly hot) sexting relationship. Lines blur, childhood crushes ignite, & feelings rapidly grow. Cole understands Eve & her ADHD on a level she’s never experienced. He’s her rock. Eve sees right through Cole’s “lax & unserious” past & shows him how dependable & awesome he really is. She’s his light.

This book touched my heart & grew it about 17 sizes.

Being a creative who has ADHD, anxiety & imposter syndrome out the wazoo, I fully identified with Eve. Heck, I pretty much am Eve Lombard. Cole Kincaid is my ideal man. I swooned SO HARD over Cole’s supportive, patient, kind, protective & understanding nature (his dirty mouth, & ability to shower Eve with praise was an added sexy bonus). Their relationship is 100% goals.

The dedication says it all:

“To all of us with ADHD who live in what I like to call organized chaos that only makes sense to us, between two times: not right now and RIGHT NOW, hyper fixation, and jump from hobby to hobby…

And to finding the right person who sees you, supports you, and takes excellent care of your praise kink.”
