But letting go of her control is not so easy Fortunately, Dale is an accomplished Master who can help Athena live out her fantasies. Unrestrained is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s obvious that Ms. Hill knows what she’s writing about and can spend an emotional and well fleshed out story. Athena is a strong competent woman who was always known as a Mistress in the BDSM scene because she topped her husband. She’s been feeling more and more submissive urges since her husband’s death, and it becomes obvious that she topped him because he needed it not because she needed it.

I really liked that aspect, that Athena was serving her husband so well that she even became Lady Mistress for him. From the moment Athena sets eyes on Dale, she knows he the Master who could make her submit. She want to keep it to just sessions but Dale won’t let her. He invades her life and proves that she can love again and that submitting to him doesn’t erase her love for her husband.

This story had a lot of emotion, Athena had been married for a lot of years, so being with another man is difficult and Dale has his own issues from being a Navy SEAL. They work together to overcome their demons and find love in each other. This story is very believable, I felt all the emotions and at times my heart almost bled for Athena and her pain and sorrow. Dale is perfect for her, he’s patient, commanding and not willing to give up on her.

I highly recommend this book and it’s honestly been added to my all-time favorite shelf.
