In book 1 of The Six Series, we met the six and followed Riley and Ace's love story. This book actually overlaps chronologically with book 1, and we get a different POV of any interactions Riley had with Jared, which I sort of liked. With that said, this is Jared's story. We are with him while he follows his dream of being a musician. We get to meet his bandmates, who are quite an interesting group of characters. I found them very amusing and loved reading about Jared and his bandmates interactions. We also meet Murphy. She is their sort-of-manager and a little spitfire, and also a lot of fun to read about. About halfway through the book, we catch up with some of the six (Aiden, Ace), but things are not what they seem. This book is not a simple love story or tale of friendship, and that is what I didn't expect, but I still enjoyed it.
I actually liked getting to know Jared better. I always thought he was the tender heart of the group and my suspicions were confirmed with everything he did in this book. Things got really tense, and then not so tense, but there is a lot left up in the air.
Hmmmmm, who will be the focus of the next book?
