"Could this possibly be real? After all of this year's scouting-with all the near-misses and dead-ends-could the Tree of my
fantasies end up being heralded via an eight-year-old messenger?"

Holly is the Director of Horticulture at Rockefeller Center a.k.a she finds the gigantic Christmas tree and makes sure it gets decorated properly. If you're like me then you had no idea that there was such a job. While this might not seem like it would be such a big thing it is, Holly's job consumes her, it's all she thinks about the whole year.
We first meet her when she is on vacation with her best friend who insists she stops thinking about it and instead enjoys vacation. While Holly does do that somewhat as soon as they get to the airport she gets a call from her assistant who tells her that he thinks he has found the tree. As soon as Holly sees the photo she loves it and immediately leaves the airport, rents a car and goes to Klaus, Massachusetts.
Once there she meets Sam the owner of the tree, who lets her look at the tree, but insists that she can't have it as it's a part of the farm and won't be leaving it any time soon. With the help of George (Sam's Dad) Holly gets the family to take a vote on if the tree should go or stay and the majority rule would win. That is until she herself has a change of heart and decides she just can't do it unless everyone wants to.
While I won't tell what happens or what that brings. I will say that this was a very nice story that wasn't to focused on romance and instead family, and what it means when you truly care of something, even if it is just a tree.
