After being betrayed by his fiancé and best friend while serving in the Army, Kane relocates to Emerson Falls where he starts working as a history teacher at Emerson Falls High School. Olivia returns home to Emerson Falls after having her heartbroken. Kane and Olivia indulge in a one-night stand with each other not realizing that Olivia is the new math teacher starting at Emerson Falls High School on Monday. When they run into each other Monday morning at school things do not start off on good terms. The pull they have to each other is hard to ignore but Kane's past is something he is going to have to move fast to make room for Olivia in his future.

Tangled was my first novel by Harlow James and I enjoyed the story from the beginning right until the very final page. The story brought on all the feels with quite a few laughs in between. I truly enjoyed how Kane and Olivia went from one hot night of passion for starting from the beginning almost as enemies and going through the whole courting process. I can not wait to read the next book in the Emerson Falls series to continue to watch Kane and Olivia grow as well as reconnect with all of their friends and family. Tangled is the first novel in the Emerson Falls series which can be read as a standalone or as the beginning of the series and is told in the first-person point of view.
