Sophie grew up with many advantages -- a large home, a Stanford undergraduate degree and admission to Harvard Law, but she also grew up feeling as though she was never good enough. So, she attempts to intentionally live a life her family would admonish, but an elevator malfunction in Las Vegas with a handsome stranger makes her realize she has hit rock bottom. While she is trying to make some life changes, Sophie crosses paths with the handsome stranger, Gray, once again.
Sophie and Gray are both super complicated and trying to come to grips with their own personal issues, while trying to resist how they are drawn to each other. This is a charming story of love, loss, friendship, family and all the complications that accompany each. I also was pretty excited about the set-up for the next book.
