Ty and Belle had drama-free hookups in college before going their separate ways. Belle's life spirals out of control and she needs to find a new passion. She realizes being a chef is more her way, she starts a new job at the Speakeasy and is shocked to see Ty, a blast from her past. Ty is surprised to see Belle wondering why she is there for the job as a chef and not a lawyer. Ty and Belle have a long road ahead if they want their second chance at romance.
I have not read any of the True North series so I can not comment to the connection to that series but this was a decent read. I found the story to be a little slow, that the ending was a little odd, and found it hard to connect emotionally with Ty and Belle. There were also some points in the blurb that took a long time to show up in the book.
Rating ... 3 Maple Leafs
Genre/Trope ... Small Town Romance, Workplace Romance, Second Chance Romance
POV ... First-Person (Ty and Belle)
