I had not read any books from Sophie McKenzie before but from the synopsis I read I was very interested in reading it. I was hooked from the first chapter. I liked Evie and can understand the hurt she felt when she learnt that basically her whole life was a lie, but there was so many emotions in this, anger was a huge part played against her parents for not telling her. But she felt that her uncle may just be the one to help her get through this. That is until she is sent to Lightsea.

The friendships she makes at Lightsea are what she needs although life is never simple and she ends up as part of a love triangle.

As soon as she arrives at Lightsea she starts seeing her real mum as a ghost, or so she thinks anyway. But why do people think she is actually going crazy.

I am so glad she had real friends she could rely on as this book had so many twists and nasty turns it was gripping. There was also a shock near the end, I really didn’t see it coming either.

This was a fantastic book and very well written, I am so glad I had the opportunity to read the book and now I want to read more from this author.
