I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

After the explosive cliff hangar in Gold Lust, I waited with bated breath for Black Knight to land on my kindle. The minute it I was all over it like 'white on rice'. I had to know how the events would play out. Black Knight delivered an amazing ending to Van and Julia's story.

Van and Julia’s story took me on a journey filled with a hunger for power, greed, intrigue, secrets, suspense, drama, betrayal and passion. They shared a love that withstood attacks from outside forces. No matter the obstacle thrown at them, their relationship survived. Although most of these situations were unavoidable, if only Van was more forthcoming with Julia about his past. The latest threat was to their plans to get married. This threat placed Van in a position he vowed never to be in again. This experience taught him that no matter how one tries, one can never attain full control of every area of their lives.

All of Van's secrets came to light, and we learn the reason he feels the need to be in control at all times. With the revelation of each secret, Julia proves that her love for Van was real. She stood by him, even when others tried to convince her he was not good for her. Julia has proven time and time again that she can hold her own.

The story had many twists and turns, and it had me pins and needles throughout them all. I knew something was brewing on the horizon, but I never anticipated the outcome.

I had fun watching it all come together and seeing how Van and Julia’s love for each other conquered all.
