Evernight is another fun and sexy addition to this amazing series! I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous two books, but I do have to say that Holly is my favorite heroine thus far! William Thorne isn't too bad either, but Jack Talent shall always hold my heart! This one picks up a year after the events of Shadowdance. Holly hasn't left her house in all that time, haunted by the memories of her time in captivity and what she was forced to do. On top of that, there have been multiple attempts on her life, and she doesn't know who's behind it. Then Thorne shows up and he too attempts to kill her. Being partially metal, she's able to control him and make him stop. In exchange for not killing her, she agrees to find a way to heal the metal coursing through his body. But the two are more connected than they know.

I think the plot of Evernight was the most complex yet, and involved the most supernaturals. Thorne is a demon infused with platinum due to the clockwork heart Holly implanted in him. She herself is an elemental, and has connections to the fae. I was quite excited for the fae to make an appearance, although their part ended up being small and not until the end. Adam, the creator of the GIM is also featured, but I wasn't that into his plot. His connection to Holly and William wasn't revealed until the end, but for the most part, it felt more like a set up for the next book.

The romance between Holly and William was great! He loves to antagonize her, and I loved the playfulness this added to their rather tense relationship. Holly is a bit socially awkward (but totally badass!), preferring to work with her inventions than with people, which caused some issues between her and William. Also, her solution to his problem created so much sexual tension! My gosh! Those two were always so close, but something or someone always interrupted them! I was going crazy wanting them to get together!

In the end, Evernight was a thoroughly enjoyable read. It's dark, sexy, and witty. There are lots of twists and turns in the plot, most of which I didn't see coming. It does get a bit confusing once everything starts coming together, but over all, I liked it even if it wasn't my favorite. I am very curious where this whole Adam/Eliza May thing is going, even though I didn't think it wholly fit in this book. It seems doomed, but I'm sure the author has plenty of tricks up her sleeve!
