Daire needs Death to fight…

Geez, wouldn’t it suck to be known as Death? From the little I know, I’m guessing she earned that title, but it can’t be good for your self-esteem. Maybe it helps that she’s strikingly beautiful? But then again, it’s like the forbidden fruit, it’s appealing but you know it’s bad for you. Well, Death, the feared one, isn’t really living up to her name. She’s acting a bit like a scaredy cat at the moment and her poor Reapers are bearing the load.

Poor Reapers? Yeah, that is another one that’s a bit of a laugh. Well, these reapers aren’t the sickle holding ones I once imagined. They’re gorgeous, strong, powerful and in some ways, good. Their job is not an easy one, but as Death’s Enforcers, it’s a necessary evil.

It absolutely cracks me up that I’m talking about characters and stuff that had me shaking in my shoes as a kid, that I can’t help but love as an adult. Maybe I’m in denial, but it’s hard to see them as evil or bad. These characters are quite lovable, fight baddies and struggle with fears, self-worth and emotions like most people. They’re not invincible and they can definitely be hurt.

In Dark Alpha’s Night we’re still on a mission to save death, kill Bran and stop the war that is brewing. A new connection is formed when Ettie, a half-fae, finally finds out what she has been waiting to be ready for. Her father made her aware of her heritage and the evilness of the Fae. He trained Ettie and her sisters to be ready. Ready for what, you ask? Well, that’s the mystery and Daire and his fellow Reapers are here to help her be ready for what’s coming.

Donna Grant has a lot of books that are interconnected. Her ability to make each one enjoyable without having to strictly be read in order is amazing. I came late to the party and while I sometimes wish I knew so-and-so and what they've faced, I still follow along well enough and appreciate it on its own merit.

I really enjoyed Dark Alpha’s Night. The Reapers, while not very long, have plenty of action to keep my attention, and give me a hit of hot and steamy to get my heart pumping. Donna Grant’s books are exactly what I love about paranormal romance.

***Death, toughen up, my pretty. You need to put on your armour and fight the war…and stop hiding from Cael. You're acting like a scaredy-cat.***
