I absolutely loved "Captive Fire"!  Just straight up loved it.  It was an incredible story of love and good triumphing over evil.  There was romance, action, intrigue, and sex.  Oh...and did I mention dragon shifters?  Oh yes.  Dragon shifters.  **SWOON**

The blurb sums it up pretty well, so I don't want to rehash all the details.  Here's a quick rundown.  Prince Ryuu is being forced by his father to take a slave.  The King wants him to choose a female so Ryuu can start cranking out heirs, but Ryuu has a different plan.  He chooses a male, not only to defy his father, but because he simply prefers men to women.  Drakon (really...the name tells you all you need to know), the slave he chooses has an alterior motive by being up for auction.  All becomes clear rather quickly as the story takes off.

I loved the chemistry between Ryuu and Drakon.  Of course, it's an Erin Leaf (LOVE her!!) story, so they're VERY sexy with heat just radiating from them, but there was also humor, affection, and a very powerful love between them.  It's not a very long book, so their relationship begins rather quickly, but that's ok.  It's not something that is forced on the reader.  You really want them to bet together as soon as possible because you know that they're meant to be mates.  There's some other stuff too, but I'm not telling!  **Kenna makes lip zipping motions**

Along with the love story, there is a fast paced plot.  I enjoyed the battle scenes, and I really liked when Drakon is reunited with his people...the people who (he thinks) want nothing to do with him.  There was plenty of tension, and it held my attention through the whole book.  I was never bored, and I was very satisfied with the ending.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book.  It's got something for everyone...and everything for a lot of others.  It's awesome! This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books. The name of the reviewer can be found under the post categories.
