I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from Uncaged, even though I had read all of Alias. That being said, I can safely say I wasn't expecting the level of complexity given, which was pretty impressive. Another huge bonus? We get a cameo from one of my favorite Marvel characters of all time: Captain Marvel! I know I shouldn't be surprised, as Jessica and Carol are bffs, but it's still really exciting to have any crossover like that happen.
Jessica went to prison; the reason for her arrest isn't specifically cited. She's hidden the baby from Luke and everyone else; in literally the last place any of them would ever look. Even after details are revealed about what is going on with Jessica (IE her doing a huge favor for Captain Marvel), I'm not sure I fully understand why she hid her child from Luke as well as everyone else. Perhaps I missed something in an avenger's plotline? Or in Luke's comic perhaps? I feel like it isn't something he'll easily forgive, and will likely be a main focus for the next volume.
As stated above, the events in Civil War II do come into play a bit; one of the women that Captain Marvel arrested, Allison has a bit of a vendetta against all superheroes now, and appears to be turning into a bit of villain herself on her journey to destroy them all.
