This is my first David Rosenfelt novel and it definitely won't be my last! I am absolutely in love with this book. I mean what's not to love about a good mystery to solve and a fun loving Dachshund to help ya? From start to finish, Rosenfelt fills this novel with fantastic writing style that keeps the reader hooked and turning the pages long into the night.

Rosenfelt's characters are awesome! I absolutely loved Murphy the Dachshund(of course, I could be a little biased.....I have three miniature dachshunds myself!). His doggy mischief is so fun to see in this novel that's filled with twists, turns and a few laughs along the way. I really enjoyed Andy's character too. He's determined to solve the mystery of young Danny's missing father so he can save Danny's Christmas. Danny's character was the perfect companion to Murphy the Doxie. Those two really made the book stand out!

This is definitely a 5 star novel that I will be sharing with all my mystery loving friends. Andy Carpenter is a character that will stay with you long after, and make you ready to read the other books in the series. I am absolutely looking forward to going back and reading the other books, and making friends with all the fun loving furbabies in them! Grab this one up now!
