I'm a huge fan of the MCU, and while I wasn't expecting this novelization to be serious literature, I did expect a little more than I got. The Avengers spent the majority of the story apart, which was unfortunate considering this was an Avengers book. Known for sweeping dramatics, superhero stories and comics should pack a little more punch, and this story was just a little underwhelming. Even the battle at the end was not exciting and I couldn't wait to finish so I could move on to something else.

The writing was decent, but I do have one pet peeve about the style - who the heck uses the word "squirt" to mean "send information over the internet?" I could have handled it once, but it happened multiple times, and it made me uncomfortable every single time. I realize that's not a big deal, but it did bug me.

Overall, this was an average novelization of the popular Avengers, and if you're eager to read everything you can get your hands on, Avengers-wise, it might be worth your time. Otherwise, you might want to pick something else.
