This is a book unlike anything else I have ever read, and I have read a lot of books. I have never read a book where every character was an animal and at first I found it difficult to get into the story of the book. But as I read on I became fascinated by the entire world that Marta Stahlfeld has created. The creativity and imagination required to write a novel like this is extraordinary. Everything is so thought out, the personalities and traits of all the creatures, the names of the places, everything. I became so wrapped up in the world that that fact that the characters were all animals slipped to the back of my mind. I have the sequel to Darkwoods, Pasadagavra, waiting for me on my beside table and I am excited to read and review that as well. This world is truly magical and I love becoming immersed in the fantasy of it all.
