Destiny in the Dark by Peter Lancett

Destiny in the Dark (Dark Man) (Zone Books (Stone Arch). Dark Man)

by Peter Lancett

The Dark Man walks with the mysterious Old Man in the city. He learns his destiny: a fight against evil that must only end one way.

This book is part of the Dark Man Series, a range of books for emergent teen and adult readers. With only a limited vocabulary, these gritty and mysterious books pull readers into the tense storyline. The sinister atmosphere and strong black-and-white illustrations ensure that the book appeals to older readers and isn't patronising. This is one of the shorter stories in the series, focusing on the top 100 frequency words.

Quite a simple read, really for remedial english teaching, and properly geared to teens than adults.

The Dark man discusses with the old man why he is the one who has to hunt the dark, he is also told to hunt the golden cup.
