Come a Little Bit Closer by Bella Andre

Come a Little Bit Closer (The Sullivans, #7)

by Bella Andre

Valentina isn't averse to sensual pleasure, or even to the idea of finding true love, but as a Hollywood business manager she's watched too many smart women fall for actors only to be torn apart when the fairytale comes to its inevitable end. But when intense weeks together on set turn their heated attraction into red-hot flames of passion, Smith knows he has to find a way to convince Valentina to let him get a little bit closer. Close enough to completely steal her heart, the way she's stolen his from the start.

Andre’s Sullivan family are all creative, gifted and close-knit and Smith cares deeply for them all. One of the most attractive things about him, besides his smokin’ hot bedroom eyes and easy manner is how he reads people. He knows when to give reassurance and selects the perfect heartfelt gift. I melted, simply melted. Valentina is protective of her sister and manages her career. Having watched her mother blow through a bevy of actor boyfriends she is all to aware of the scene. While she is confident, professional and talented she has relationship and trust issues. Smith has his work cut out for him trying to break down those walls and I loved watching it unfold. Of course, we see the other siblings and learn about their lives. There are even a few joyous celebrations. We even learned a little about the Sullivan cousins and I was overjoyed to see we will get their stories as well.

Come a Little Closer offered up a sweet, tender and at times deliciously hot romance. Andre knows how to create just the right amount of tension and angst to keep the reader engaged. There was no skimming here as every scene felt right and slowly built towards the climax. As always the siblings got involved, and even their mother Mary offered her infinite wisdom. The tale has that small-town feel even if the siblings are slightly scattered with their careers. Valentina annoyed me a little since it was so obvious how wonderful Smith was, but Andre did a wonderful job of fleshing her out and making me connect and understand her. The chemistry between Smith and Valentina was scrumptious and at times the pages melted. The next book features the last unattached sibling, Lori or as her family refers to her, “Naughty”. I for one cannot wait.

Come a Little Closer is the perfect read for someone looking for a heated romance wrapped in small-town charm. One of my favorite series, the Sullivans deliver that feel good, happy escape I love in a romance novel.
