Cocktails and Books received this book for free from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review. With the way the previous book ended, I wondered if Sutton and David were going to be able to resolve their differences.
With the revelation that David was the son of the people who tried to ruin the Wrights really did a number on Sutton. But that was just the beginning of the issues Sutton had. We discover quickly that Sutton still isn't over Maverick's death or even the death of her parents. She had a lot to work through and unfortunately, David was the one that bore the brunt of Sutton's demons.
David's patience was almost another character in the book. But it became very clear that David, at some point was going to need to start thinking about himself despite what his feelings were for Sutton.
While I enjoyed the conclusion to this story, I'm not sure the second book was needed. It felt like Sutton dragged David along with her emotional breakdowns, rather than the two of them really resolving anything or moving forward until almost the very end.
I've truly enjoyed reading the Wright family and I'm going to miss them. K. A. Linde has given us some truly wonderful characters.
