This was a very, very suspenseful book and I loved the way it was written.

It starts off with Johnny (the hero) at 6 years old....witnessing his father's death. After being in a coma, he wakes up with no memory of what happens.

Flashforward about 20 years. Johnny is now an adult, a Green Beret and serving in the Iraq war. He sees the same man, the "Skunk Man", who killed his father. In a horrible instance, he remembers everything about his father's death and kills the "Skunk Man" by pushing him out out of the helicopter.

Flashforward about 10 years and Johnny is a computer teacher in high school and a widower, having lost his wife (Annie) to cancer 2 years before. He is asked by his best friend, Gabe, if he could take Gabe's cousin, Fran, out to show her Loston's sight and landmarks.

But, before he agrees to take her out, Johnny spies someone who he thought was dead. "Skunk Man". And Skunk Man has a teenage girl.

Who are they? Why are they running? Johnny is determined to find the answer and ends up getting caught up in something bigger....much bigger.

Will he survive the night, with Fran, running from the townsfolk...who have seemingly gone insane? What is so special about Fran? Is Johnny really who he thinks he is? Who is the Skunk Man and why is he turning up now?

Gotta read the book to find out...haha
