Will love override lies?
I Thought It Was You by Kirsty McManus is wonderfully written romance and story about how new friends can sometimes be just what you need to turn your life around.
Olivia “Liv”
Liz is our lead character, and the story is from her perspective. She decides to take the Oceanic Aphrodite cruise to get away from her ex-boyfriend, who is a total loser and to see her brother. What Liv doesn’t know is that her room is one of the Sassy Singles on board which got her cabin at half price.
I liked Liv; she was funny, outgoing, friendly, yet also reserved. She needed a change of pace from her life in Brisbane. And it seems like not only did she realize what type of person she wanted to be but who Liv wants to be with, and she met some friends along the way.
Wells
Wells is Liz’s love interest. He is also the son of a famous actress, and he helps people raise money for charities. Wells is an upfront, honest, compassionate, handsome type of guy. He caught Liv’s eye the moment that they met. The thing about Wells is he isn’t going to stand for being lies and dishonesty, which is a problem for Liv.
Jamila
Jamila sort of meets Liv and convinces her to pretend that she is a rehab nurse there to complete Jamila’s rehab. She is also the person who creates some of the trouble that Liv is in, and she is also the person that changes Liv’s life the most. Jamila always sees the good side of people, and that could be dangerous for a television star.
4 Stars for I Thought It Was You by Kirsty McManus
My rating for I Thought It Was You by Kirsty McManus is four stars. I thought this story was really believable. The growth of the characters and the friendships that they make are so fabulously written. This book made me think that I should go on a cruise.
