It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.
This book picks up 3 years after Mia's car accident, and instead of Mia's perspective, we get Adams. I felt so heartbroken for Adam. His life is such a mess when we first start reading, it made me want to shake him because I just wanted him to walk away from it all, but I knew he couldn't, and had no where to go.
I wasn't sure where this book was going to go until it actually happened. When Adam and Mia finally see each other again, I was so happy for Adam, but then as I continued to read, I wasn't sure if it was a good thing. They both danced around each other because they were both afraid to say anything. It was frustrating.
I felt like this book was much sadder than [b:If I Stay|4374400|If I Stay (If I Stay, #1)|Gayle Forman|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1347462970s/4374400.jpg|4422413]. Mostly because of the state Adam was in for the majority, but I feel like that's why I ending up loving this books also.
This book and If I Stay definitely made me a fan of Gayle Forman. I borrowed both books from the library, but I'm definitely going to buy my own copies as well.
