I had the dubious pleasure of seeing bits of a tv movie version of this as a child and as a result, picked it up & instantly fell in love with it. Reading it again as an adult, it not only served as a bit of childish nostalgia for me, but was still able to touch me with its magic. Just wished I'd kept the tissues nearby 2nd time around. 8D
